Online Color Matching

Transcript: (// = see screen activity)

Hi, today I am going to show you how to match any color on the web. This is invaluable when you are creating new web pages, especially for branding purposes. Let’s say you want to match the color of a web page section to the color of your client’s logo. This tutorial will show you how to do that. And, by the way, you can do it for free.//

The name of the program you want to use is called Color Cop. So you just go into Google and type “color cop program.” Here’s the search engine results page, the URL is colorcop dot net. And you’ll see download just below the description.//

If you click that link, you go to the Color Cop home page. And if you scroll down, you’ll see a link for the self-installing English version. You just download the .exe file and click on run.//

Then, you’ll get the Color Cop action box, and you’ll see this little eyedropper halfway down on the left side. You can then click and drag this eyedropper over anything on your screen to get both the RGB and hexagonal color numbers which you can use to exactly match the color in any input box or your html coding. //

So say I wanted to match the color of my logo. Here’s my electronic stationery. And all I have to do is click and drag the eyedropper like this. That’s it. Simple.//
